Winpwn 2.5 was recently launched. Its still said to be in BETA stage which according to the Dev Team means “Use at your Own Risk” !

This latest iteration of Winpwn is fully Graphical with a very attractive User Interface !

Note : iPhone 3G still cannot be Software Unlocked ! If you want to Unlock iPhone 3G you will need to use a Hardware Tool like a RebelSIM.

Things you Need :

• Winpwn 2.5
• iPhone 2.0.2 Firmware
• iPhone 3.9 Bootloader
• iPhone 4.6 Bootloader

Follow these Steps to Unlock/Activate your 2G 2.0.2 iPhone :

1. Connect your iPhone to your PC, make sure iTunes Detects it.

2. Open Winpwn 2.5, make sure “Expert Mode” is On. You’ll see a side Tray showing the on-going processes when Expert Mode is activated.

3. Choose the appropriate Device – iPhone, iPod Touch or iPhone 3G.

4. Select your Firmware.

5. Choose to Delete Bootneuter.app after installation.

6. Click on Activate if you’re not on ATnT.

7. Select Cydia, installing Cydia is Compulsary. Installer 4 is as good as useless for now.

8. Wipe Data as NO.

9. Check to manually adjust Root Partition Size and set the Size to 800 Mb.

10. The IPSW Building will now start.

11. By Default the Custom IPSW is stored in My Documents.

12. After IPSW is Created. Put the iPhone in DFU Mode, open iTunes, Click on Shift+Restore.

13. Select the CustomFirmware file from My Documents.

14. After everything is done, you will be on 2.0.2 Jailbroken and Unlocked !

Many people who have the iPhone/iPod Touch are still not able to install the FREE Applications because they don’t have an iTunes account as iTunes Compulsorily needs a Credit Card to create one !

I’ll explain in short how to get yourself a FREE iTunes Account without Credit Card !

Follow the Steps below :

1. Open iTunes

2. Click on iTunes Store from Left Side Pane.

3. At the very bottom of the page, select My Store as “United States”. (Other Countries are not tested)

4. Click on any FREE Application to Download as Shown in the Pic above :

5. The Page related to that Application will open. Click on Get App and you’ll get a Box as shown below :

6. In the Dialog Box Click on Create New Account.

7. Click on Continue.

8. Accept the License Agreement by Ticking the Check Box and then Click on Continue.

9. Fill in your Email ID, Password, Secret Question and Birth Date and click Continue.

10. Now as you see in the Image Below. You have another Payment Option which says “None“. Check that !

11. Fill in your Details and click Continue. (if you’re wondering what to fill in for Address, you can fill up any valid PIN Code and Fone No. ex. City: New York, State: NY, Zip: 10012, Phone: 212  226-3127)

12. You’ll now be sent an Email. Check your EMail, Verify your Account.

13. Congratulations ! You’ve successfully created a new iTunes Account, totally free and without using or exposing any Credit Card Information !

Use this Guide to Unlock/JailBreak your 2G iPhone with Firmware 2.0.  (Note : This wont work with 3G iPhone)

Tools needed for Unlock :

1. iPhone 2.0 Firmware : Download >HERE< OR iPhone 2.0.1 Firmware : Download >HERE<
2. WinPwn 2.0.0.4 : Download >HERE<
3. 3.9 BL (Bootloader) : Download >HERE<
4. 4.6 BL : Download >HERE<
5. .Net Framework 2.0 : Download >HERE< (Only needed on Windows XP)

How to install and Unlock 2.0/2.0.1 :

1. Install WinPwn

2. Click on Browse IPSW and open the “iPhone1,1_2.0_5A347_Restore.ipsw” file that you downloaded.

3. The firmware will be checked if its ok and compatible.

4. After thats done, click on the IPSW Builder

5. In here select Only Installer and YouTube ! DO NOT select Cydia as there are some bugs in Winpwn 2.0.0.4 at the moment !

6. Go to the Custom Images tab and Select one from the “Search Online” Option that you like. If you want the Default Logos then don’t change any options here.

7. Now go to the Advanced Tab. Here Select “Activate iPhone“, “Enable BaseBand Update“, “NeuterBootloader 3.9/4.6“, “Unlock Baseband” and “AutoDelete BootNeuter.app”

8. Next Click on the Bootloader 3.9 File Button and choose the BL-39.bin file that you downloaded. Do the same for the 4.6 Bootloader file by selecting BL-46.bin.

9. Click the Build .ipsw Button at the Bottom.Me sure you save it in the Default Location only ! DO NOT change the Location where its save but note down the location so that you can select it later from iTunes !

10. After the ipsw is created you will get the confirmation messege.

11. Now from the main Winpwn screen choose iPwner Button and select the file that you saved on your Desktop.

12. You’ll get the messege saying “iTunes has been Pwned!”

13. Next you have to put your iPhone in DFU Mode. To do that Keep Holding Power and Home Button until the iPhone restarts and then leave the Power Button but keep the Home Button Pressed. Make sure that while doing this your iPhone is connected to your PC.  If you still find it hard to put it in DFU Mode, check out this Video : http://youtube.com/?v=K0oS79cErHM

14. iTunes will now say that iPhone in Recovery Mode has been found. Click Ok and you’ll get an Restore Button in iTunes.

15. Press Shift + that Restore Button and you’ll get a Dialog Box to browse for that Firmware File.

16. Now just select the File that your saved on your Desktop and click Open.

17. iPhone will start the Process and when Done you’ll be on 2.0.1 Activated and Unlocked !

Note : Make sure you’re connected to the Internet while you do all this !

One such application released recently is the NetShare Application ! This application allows you to use your EDGE/3G Data Network and route in a way which shares your iPhones Net connection to your PC via a Socks5 Proxy Server !

This Application is currently Paid and costs 10$ ! I personally don’t think its worth that much as I’ve been using this feature for free for over an year now via the following method by cre.ations.net !

Anyhow I’ll explain in Brief how to use this for your Windows based PC.

On iPhone :

1. Download the NetShare Application from the AppStore.
2. In your iPhone go to Settings > Wifi > Choose your Network and Select “Static” ! Note the IP Address here.
3. Delete the DNS values
4. Now open NetShare Application and it should show the same IP that you noted down before.

On PC :

1. Open up Firefox > Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Click on Settings
2. Choose the Manual Proxy Configuration > In the Socks Host enter the IP Address shown in the Net Share application and also enter the Port shown in Netshare here.
3. Make sure you select Socks5
4. Click Ok and your Done and should be able to browse any sites !

For other Applications like Yahoo Messenger follow the same. Yahoo too has Proxy Settings so use the same details there.

Now enjoy 3G Speeds on your Laptop/PC !
