In past, not many emulator apps have passed the litmus test, which is to get nod of approval from Apple. But, there have been very few emulator apps that have received Apple’s approval, namely Manomio’s Commodore 64 and a select few. More often than not though, these apps seem to appear on the App store, but are also quickly revoked once noticed. The current status of iMAME is not known(whether its approved or not) but its free and available so, I suggest just go ahead and grab it before its too late.
Although a number of emulators exist on the App Store, Apple has always been very restrictive about these open emulators, due to some legalities. iMAME is an application designed to recreate the hardware of arcade game systems in software on modern personal computers and other platforms. It comes with nine arcade ROMs to play and you can download your free version here.[via : Toucharcade]
