[How To] Jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 / 5.0 On iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad And iPod Touch 4G With Ac1dSn0w Beta 1

Today is the day of jailbreaking tools. With the news of release of C-Dev reporter by Chronic Dev Team which will send crash reports to Chronic Dev Team servers (instead of Apple’s) so they can find exploits, now that news has been followed up by the news of yet another jailbreaking tool. It’s called Ac1dSn0w and it jailbreaks iOS 5/iOS 5.0.1 tethered on OS X Snow Leopard and Lion.

Although, Ac1dSn0w isn’t really different from established tools like Redsn0w and Sn0wbreeze but it is a promising alternative with its features like remote jailbreaking, custom firmware creation and iRecovery Remote. Also, it is currently available for OS X only.

From PwnDevTeam:

I’m pleased to announce that we’ve just released Beta 1 of Ac1dSn0w for Mac OS X Lion (should alsowork on Snow Leopard). Ac1dSn0w allows you to jailbreak your iDevice tethered.  It also provides features like Tethered Boot, Pwned DFU, and Exit Recovery to get your device out of Recovery Loop.It currently supports iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod touch 4G and original iPad on iOS 5 and iOS 5.0.1 for tethered jailbreak. Once you go through the steps, your device will be jailbroken tethered, just like redsn0w or sn0wbreeze. iPad 2 and iPhone 4S are NOT supported.

Step 1: Download Ac1dSn0w [Google Docs Link] and launch it.

Chronic Dev Team Unveils C-Dev Reporter

Chronic Dev Team – the people behind the GreenPoison jailbreaking tool which was used to jailbreakiOS 4.2.1  have announced and released an all new program which permits jailbreaking enthusiasts to send their iOS device crash reports directly to Chronic Dev Team instead of Apple.

News of this new program comes straight from GreenPois0n blog in the form of a blog post in which iPhone hacker Joshua p0sixninja Hill gives an update on iOS 5 jailbreak, and also mentions how Apple finds exploits in iOS and iOS devices, how some of their critical userland exploits were patched as well as how you can now help the  jailbreaking communityin finding exploits so that the long-waiting untethered iOS 5 jailbreak for all devices, including iPad 2 and iPhone 4S, can come sooner rather than later.

The program – which is called C-Dev Reporter - basically sends all crash reports on your device to private, secure Chronic Dev Team servers instead of Apple. These reports are then studied by members of the team and the knowledge they gain is then used to find exploits which eventually will lead to a proper, untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.

The program also disables iTunes’ ability to send crash reports to Apple, so that they would be unable to patch these exploits.

Now Make Your iPhone Totally Waterproof [Video]

As it is with all touchscreen phones when exposed to moisture or when they accidentally fell in water they seem to stop working or have some serious damages.Same it is with an iPhone. Inside every iPhone there are a dozen little moisture indicators that turn pink the moment your iPhone is exposed to excessive moisture. This makes it difficult to use in rains or other atrocious conditions. Apple uses such indicators to tell when to deny you warranty service because you’ve accidentally dropped your device in the drink or left it out in the rain, but wouldn’t it be better if Apple never had to worry about replacing a water damaged device again?

Well this all could be true in a years time thanks to Never Wet, a superhydrophobic coating that does such a good job resisting moisture that devices literally can never get wet when immersed or exposed to water.

Check out the video below, in which an iPhone 3G  functions normally while submerged in water for over thirty minutes.
