Before the release of the iPhone 4S, it was rumored to be featuring the NFC chip which is now one of the most touted features on some leading mobile vendors but it didn’t turned out to be. As a matter of fact many were expecting a newer iPhone with a redesign but it was just a steped up version of the existing iPhone 4.

But according to recent reports from Digitimes Apple is expected to bring the NFC(near field communication) to the next version of iPhone which is expected to hit the markets in 2012.

As Android, Symbian, BlackBerry and Bada have supported NFC (near field communication) functions and Microsoft and Apple plan to make Windows Phone and iOS support NFC in 2012, the proportion of NFC-enabled smartphones will quickly increase from less than 10% currently to over 50% in two to three years, according to Taiwan-based smartphone makers.

So with the competition getting intense with other biggies in the smartphone business try to get over each other this can very well turn out to be a real deal.

The first on the agenda being, iPad 3 will be slightly thicker than the iPad 2, secondly, The iPhone 5 to be released as a 4-inch device, and finally, a new look MacBook Pro line will be launched.

Firstly, we shall discuss the iPad 3 being slightly thicker than iPad 2 scenario:

iPad 3 is rumored to be 0.77mm or about 8% thicker than iPad 2. This is required to install the twin light bar system needed to illuminate a 9.7-inch Retina Display. Makes sense to us, as does iLounge’s claim that the iPad 3 would be released in March but shown off for the first time in January which would give developers ample amount of time to update their iPadapps to the new Retina Display.

Rumor has it that Apple was on the verge of coming out with a MacBook Air packing a processor from Advanced Micro Devices. The news being put forward by chip-centric web site Semiaccurate is that AMD offered better graphics horsepower. Today, the Air and all the MacBooks use Intel’s Sandy Bridge processors. “If you are wondering why the Air wasn’t really revamped much this last time, it is because you are looking at plan B.

Plan A was basically a low power AMD Llano in an Air shell, and that would have been a really tasty machine. Instead of substandard graphics with questionable drivers, you would get many times the GPU power but lose a bit of CPU power.”

According to Jailbreaknation one of their tipsters got some news from Siri front, if the tipster is to be believed Apple is now Testing the Siri Voice recognition feature on iDevices other than iPhone 4S, specifically the iPhone 4 and perhaps other devices like the iPad are also on the cards.

According to the tipster Apple has given their employees access to a special software version that incorporates Siri’s features on to older iDevices.

As per a report which was published earlier, Apple is planning to launch two new iPad next year. In the report they cite “sources from the upstream supply chain” who claim that Apple will be releasing two significantly different iPad models next year.

According to a report the first iPad which is a small update of iPad 2 dubbed the “iPad 2S”, which will be powered by faster processor & longer battery life. The real new iPad will be iPad 3 which is going to release in Q3 2012. If previous rumors are anything to go by, this iPad would pack a quad-core Apple A6 chip along with a 2048×1536 Retina Display.

Sources of this reports are Chinese newspaper and online website.

According to DigiTimes: “Apple’s new generation iPad will enter mass production soon with the launch set for March 2012, according to sources from the upstream supply chain; however, the sources revealed that internally Apple does not view the new iPad product as iPad 3, but rather an upgraded iPad 2 and the real iPad 3 will not be launched until the third quarter of 2012 at the earliest.”

We have been seeing a lot of UltraBooks these days from various PC manufacturers like Acer, HP and other biggies. According to Appleinsider Apple is testing a 15″ Ultrathin MacBook which will be an extension to the existing MacBook Air Family of Notebooks from Apple and Apple is believed to be developing a new Mac Book Pro Lineup for the next year which will not feature an Optical Drive. All the current MacBookPro’s consists of an Optical Drives while the MacBook Air’s only feature a Solid State Drive without an Optical Drive.

Apple’s next version of MacBooks are expected to feature Intel’s next-generation Ivy Bridge processors, slated to be released at some point in the first half of 2012.
