[Download] Snowbreeze 2.8 Build10 to Jailbreak iOS 5/5.0.1 Beta 2

To the delight of iDevice users, Sn0wbreeze 2.8 build10 has just been released to jailbreak iOS 5 and iOS 5.0.1 (Beta 1 and Beta 2) on Windows. Since the current version of Redsn0w, version 0.9.9b8 for Windows and Mac, can already jailbreak the above mentioned iOS updates, the added advantage of Sn0wbreeze is that it fixes iBooks crashing issue on devices running jailbroken iOS 5.0.x.

Also, Sn0wbreeze removes the UDID requirement for iOS 5.0.1 betas. This gives an added advantage to non-developers, who can now install iOS 5.0.1 without having to have a registered account on iOS Dev Center.

Full change-log of Sn0wbreeze 2.8b10 is as follows:

Download Redsnow 0.9.9b6 to Jailbreak iOS 5 on Windows

The iPhone Dev Team has finally released an update to Redsn0w which adds support for Windows users. The previous version released a week back lacked support for Jailbreaking iOS5 final on Windows.

This update also fixes the aGPS issues with iPhone 3GS.

From the iPhone Dev-Team:

We’ve released version 0.9.9b6 of redsn0w, with both a functional fix and cosmetic fix for iOS5 jailbreakers. For iPhone3GS owners with the 06.15 baseband, this redsn0w eliminates the network crash you saw when using Location Services in iOS5 (in fact, you don’t even need to disable Location Services anymore during the initial setup). The cosmetic fix is to the visual countdown you see when going into DFU mode.

It’s okay to re-run this redsn0w over an existing device jailbroken at iOS5. Just choose “Jailbreak” again and de-select Cydia (in other words, all the checkboxes will be unchecked).  If you are lucky enough to have an old-bootrom iPhone3GS, please pre-select the IPSW first (redsn0w can’t yet auto-detect the FW version of your old-bootrom 3GS if it’s already been jailbroken).

Search Google from iPhone Notification Center

What will we do without Google? Did this question ever cross your mind? Over a number of years Google has become an integral part of our life. I can’t remember a day gone by without me not looking something or the other on Google. It’s time you Apple users to get hands on new offering from Google.

Now Apple offers a couple of ways to use Google search across its iOS devices. The most used is the search bar in Mobile Safari, and the other is the Spotlight screen just to the left of your Home screen.

Now there is another option to add to the above options, and it even manages to utilize the power of  Notification Center at the same time.

StatusGoogle is a jailbreak tweak, and can be downloaded for free from Cydia, the jailbreak app store.

Once downloaded, all StatusGoogle does is add a new search bar to Notification Center, iOS 5′s new way of handling all those notifications that users receive these days.Once  installed, typing in your search query and hitting Return will throw you straight into Mobile Safari, with the Google search loading automatically.

UltraSn0w updated to Unlock iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4 on iOS5

iPhone Dev Team has updated their famous Ultrasn0w software, which will unlock your 3GS & iPhone 4 under iOS 5.

UltraSn0w 1.2.4 is now available, which supports iPhone 3GS and 4G basebands 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04, and 06.15.00. now you want to unlock then only baseband is available is 01.59.00.

To getting things done quickly, user first needs to jailbreak their iPhone, so the only way to get iOS 5 on these devices while preserving the baseband is to use a custom IPSW for upgrade. Ultrasn0w is so far the easiest way to unlock iPhone. All user need is to just install a package on user jailbroken device.

The most important thing is, Ultrasn0w supports only few basebands so be sure that your version is supported & then you are good to go for unlocking your iPhone. Also note that all current iOS 5 Jailbreaks are tethered. Which means you’ll have to re-Jailbreak everytime you restart your device.

To Install it, open up Cydia and Search for “ultrasn0w”.

[How to] Install Siri on iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS or iPad 2

One of the most touted features of iPhone 4S is the amazing new AI based ‘Siri’. Siri is a iPhone 4S-only feature.

Although I personally feel this was just a marketing technique by Apple to get the current owners to buy the iPhone 4S since the iPhone 4 is pretty powerful enough to handle Siri and anyways all the Siri voice processing is done server side.

Just a day after its launch, Siri has already been hacked into the iPhone 4.

A famous hacker by the name, Steve Troughton has ported over Siri from iPhone 4S to iPhone 4.

This hack is currently unavailable but will be launched soon. Bookmark this page and check back later for Instructions on getting this on your iPhone 4/iPhone 3GS or iPad 2.

Note that you will need your device to be Jailbroken.

Update:
=========================================================

There’s been an update to getting Siri on your iPhone and we’re now getting closer to actually getting it to work.

This method will only allow you to get the feel of Siri on your iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS. This will still not work since Apple servers only accept requests for Siri commands from an iPhone 4S. All requests from iPhone 4 or 3GS are simply ignored.

But that too is a matter of time until the hackers figure out a way to make it work.

Check out the Video Tutorial below to Install Siri on your iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS right now!

Update 2:
=========================================================

Steve Troughton, the original hacker who was working on porting Siri to iPhone 4/iPod Touch has finally managed to find a way to fool Apple Servers into thinking that the requests are being sent from an iPhone 4S.

He has posted a video showing the hack and Siri working successfully on the iPhone 4. He says the hack will require files from the iPhone 4S and these files are not authorized by Apple to publicly distribute.

Nonetheless, the hack is successful now and its only a matter of days before we get the final instructions on getting this to work.

Check out the Video showing the hack running successfully:
