iPod Touch 3G was launched a couple of months back with improved Processor and Graphics Capabilities (32Gb/64Gb). But along with that, they came with the 3.1 Firmware which prevented Jailbreaking.

A sort of temporary (tethered) Jailbreak is now available for iPod Touch 3G. Jailbreaking an iPod unlocks a lot of possibilities such as Custom Themes, some cool Apps and ahem *cracked games* too.

Blackra1n RC2 now supports Jailbreaking of the iPod Touch 3G 8Gb along with 32 and 64Gb variants.

Follow this guide to Jailbreak your iPod Touch 3G :

=======================================================================================

(PC Users)

1. Connect your iPod Touch to the PC and make sure its detected by iTunes.

2. Download Blackra1n from here.

3. Make sure that iTunes is open and your iPod Touch is detected. Now run blackra1n.exe

4. It will say ‘Entering Recovery’ and the image from www.blackra1n.com will appear on your iDevice. Wait for it to reboot automatically.

5. Once the Device Reboots. Open blackra1n Application and Install Cydia.

=======================================================================================

(Mac Users)

1. Connect your iPod Touch to the PC and make sure its detected by iTunes.

2. Download Blackra1n from here.

3. Make sure that iTunes is open and your iPod Touch is detected. Now run blackra1n.app

4. It will say ‘Entering Recovery’ and the image from www.blackra1n.com will appear on your iDevice. Wait for it to reboot automatically.

5. Once the Device Reboots. Open blackra1n Application and Install Cydia.

=======================================================================================

Note : Remember that this is a Tethered Jailbreak. This means that you will have to re-run Blackra1n.exe everytime your Reboot your iPod Touch. So do not reboot your iPod Touch when you don’t have any PC/Mac near you.

An untethered jailbreak will take time according to various sources, so don’t keep your hopes up that soon a permanent Jailbreak will come. For time being use this Tethered Jailbreak.

There’s really no limit to what developers can come up with these days for the iPhone. Just when you though that there’s an App for every possible category and task, comes this App which doesn’t fail to amaze you!

Viper SmartStart from Directed Electronics is an iPhone-compatible remote starter capable of warming up or cooling down a car.

SmartStart can be used to remotely lock or unlock the doors, pop the trunk or even sound the car alarm !

“Our customers have consistently told us that the two most important features in a remote starter are range and user interface,” Directed Electronics president Kevin Duffy said in a statement. “We developed the Viper SmartStart in response. Range is virtually unlimited, and iPhone owners can use the elegant touch-screen interface they already carry in their pocket.”

The SmartStart can be installed to your car for $499 or made compatible with an existing started for $299.

The iPhone and iPod Touch have most of the features any Music device should have. But many people missed an FM Radio. Well there seems to be some good news for FM lovers.

Apple was always reluctant to include a FM Radio in their iPod lineup but with the inclusion of FM Radio in their latest iPod Nanos opened up hopes for inclusion of FM in other Apple devices too.

The current iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3G have a FM Receiver Module, just that theres no software to make use of it.

Apparently Apple is waiting for the integration of Apple Music Store and FM App so that users can buy the Song which they like while listening to FM.

This is not the first time that Apple has decided to keep a feature locked, Apple had previously kept some features hidden initially like the iPod 2Gs Bluetooth. It was 10 months later that Apple decided to make use of the Bluetooth feature.

As to how long will it take for the Official Radio.app to launch is best known by Apple itself. We all can just cross our fingers and wait for the Best!

Apple’s WWDC event is just a few days away now. Apple is said to be announcing its next iteration of iPhone, iPods and OSX. So it’s quite a major and much awaited event for everyone.

Apple is well known for keeping its forecoming products a tightly wrapped secret until the last moment. But somehow people manage to leak out bits of information about its future products just days before its announcement.

Apple’s also said to be launching a new iPod Nano (5th Gen) which was rumored to include a Digital Camera.

From the leaked image above, you can clearly see a Digital Camera at the back. The specification of the camera are still unknown. The screen features a widened 1.5:1 aspect ratio. Resolution will most probably be the same as previous Nano models.

The Click Wheel is still retained and thus there’s no possibility of this being a Touch based device.

Note : This is to be taken as a Rumor only. There’s no credible source to prove this news.

A major security Flaw in the iPhone was discovered a few weeks ago. This flaw bypassed the Lock and allowed access to Users private data. A workaround to fix that was posted here.

Apple has hence beefed up the Security in the new 2.1 Firmware and now provides a more secure option which Wipes all your Data if Incorrect Password is given 10 times in a row.

Check the ScreenShot below :

This option is currently available in the iPod 2.1 Firmware and I’m sure that it will be available in the iPhone 2.1 Firmware too.
