Seed is a Fresh New Email Client for iPhone

Email clients for iOS have been scarce so far with only Sparrow being a worthy alternative to the default mail app. But that’s about to change soon with several new email clients on the horizon including Mailbox and Evomail.

Seed is a new email client for iPhone. The first thing that you will notice is the clean interface and slick transitions. The top and bottom bars will slide away as soon as you begin scrolling through your email giving you the the much needed extra space and keeping you focused on just the emails.

The app support multiple email accounts via the IMAP protocol. That means you can use Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo and pretty much any IMAP compliant email service.

Birthdays for iPhone – The Most Beautiful and Simplest Birthday Reminder App for iPhone [Giveaway]

The Apple AppStore is now probably the most extensive application repository with apps for almost anything!

I’ve personally been looking around for an app to remind me of my friends birthdays, there were tons of alternatives but none which provided me with just the right blend of features I was looking for.

1. Facebook friends birthday fetching: Since almost all of my friends are on Facebook, fetching data from Facebook was what I was looking for.

2. Adding Entries to the iPhone’s Calendar: This was important to me since I want reminders set not just on my iPhone, but also to every device (including Android) and Google calendar syncing was one of the most required feature.

3. Locally set Notifications: Another obvious feature was that I should be reminded of my friends birthdays automatically without me needing to do anything!

4. Wishing on Facebook: Posting on the birthday boy/girl’s wall was also something I wanted to be able to do.

5. A Beaufitul interface!: This one was of the most importance to me. The app HAD to be have a beautiful UX.

Being an iPhone developer myself, I thought that this would be a good (personal) first app and something which would be useful to others as well.

Birthdays for iPhone is now available on the AppStore. I strongly suggest you go buy it simply cause I couldn’t find any other birthday reminder app that had just the perfect blend of the above 5 core features!

Top Casino and Poker Apps for iPhone and iPad

iPhones, iPads, and other mobile devices continue to increase in popularity, driven in no small part by the thousands of games and apps available for them. Fans of gambling games have had plenty to enjoy from the release of the first iPhone, as Apple Texas Hold’em was one of the very first apps developed and distributed for the iPhone. Mobile phone gambling is one of the fastest growing niches of mobile gaming, with not only plenty of great apps to choose from but even more in the pipeline and on the way.

Most gambling apps fall into one of two broad categories: one that let you play for free or play chips or apps that let you wager for real money. While there are a few apps that let you play for real money, the vast majority are for amusement purposes only, or to learn the rules for various casino games or how to count cards at blackjack. Both Apple and Google has been highly restrictive when it comes to approving apps for gambling for real money, so most of the free and premium apps you find will only let you compete for play money.

iMAME Arrives At The App Store

In past, not many emulator apps have passed the litmus test, which is to get nod of approval from Apple. But, there have been very few emulator apps that have received Apple’s approval, namely Manomio’s Commodore 64 and a select few. More often than not though, these apps seem to appear on the App store, but are also quickly revoked once noticed. The current status of iMAME is not known(whether its approved or not) but its free and available so, I suggest just go ahead and grab it before its too late.

Although a number of emulators exist on the App Store, Apple has always been very restrictive about these open emulators, due to some legalities. iMAME is an application designed to recreate the hardware of arcade game systems in software on modern personal computers and other platforms. It comes with nine arcade ROMs to play and you can download your free version here.

OnLive Offers Console Quality On-Demand Gaming on iOS Devices, Launches It’s iPad Client

OnLive the Cloud gaming company has released their playable OnLive client for iPad and iPhone. OnLive enables its users to avail console-quality games for Macs, PCs, TVs (and now mobile devices) by remotely streaming the game from their central servers. The client device need not be fast enough to render high resolution graphics — instead it simply has to play back what amounts to a video stream of the game, while user controls are sent back to the central server.

For the first time, users can play actual games which earlier can only be played on PC or Macs, on a relatively low power device such as a tablet or smartphone. With Onlive’s just-launched mobile app, DiRT 3, Assasin’s Creed Revelations, L.A. Noire and many more titles can now be played on  iPad and soon, the iPhone.
