iPhone Battery Issues Not Related to Hardware According to Recent Tests

While Apple is doing their best to kill the battery ghost which is haunting the iDevices specifically the iPhone 4 and the newly launched iPhone 4S with their latest release for the iOS updates the iOS 5.0.1 the battery drainage problem still is being reported by many of the users and even the iPad users are now reporting about poor battery life even with the latest iOS 5.0.1 update.

The issue is been in the talking for quite a while now and Apple is doing their best to sort things out, since this one is the second biggest issue after the last years iPhone 4′s Antenna gate fiasco.Now some of the iOS  developers have concluded with their testing that this poor battery issue has nothing to do with the hardware part but just the software as reported earlier by ZDNet.

As one of the developers who tested the battery performance of two iPhone 4S devices and both were running the iOS 5.0.1 OS with one showing poor battery performance while the other one worked perfectly fine. One thing to be noted here that both the devices were having different configurations, while one was for pure app testing purposes the other one was for the day to day usage.

Aircel Brings iPhone 4S to India, Preorders Starts 18th November, Launches on 25th November, Airtel Joins the League

The wait is finally over, iPhone 4S as predicted earlier is hitting the indian shores this month courtesy Aircel. As we reported earlier the rumors were already floating around an imminent November launch  for the iPhone 4S in India.

Aircel has officially announced that the iPhone 4S will be launched on 25th November and the preorders will start from the  18th of this month. Along with the Aircel announcement, Airtel the other Carrier which is bringing the iPhone 4S has also announced their  iPhone 4S coming soon as well.

Though no pricing details have yet been released for any version of the iPhone 4S from Airtel or Aircel, but we can expect that to be around the estimated iPhone 4S prices which we reported about a couple of days ago.

It remains to be seen if they bring all the 3 versions that is the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB iPhone 4S and what price tag does these devices gets as it’s coming from both the carriers and if one has to stand out in the fierce competition and keeping in mind what kind of customers to target for this launch to be successful.

Unlocked iPhone 4S Now Available in Apple US Online Stores

Finally after many days in the waiting, Apple has finally started offering Unlocked iPhone 4S for the United States Online Stores along with the roll- out of the next phase of countries in the iPhone 4S roll-out yesterday.

The 16GB version of the unlocked iPhone 4S would cost  $649 while the 32GB and the 64GB version of the iPhone 4S would cost $749 and $849 respectively. All the phones are now being listed with 1-2 weeks of shipping time.

So those who don’t want to go with the standard 2 years contract with a specific carrier can now get the phone for the above mentioned price and can use it over any GSM network, though one have to keep in mind that these phones wouldn’t work with the CDMA carriers but only for the GSM Wireless networks. One would also need an active MicroSIM Card in order to use the phone, since the unlocked version of the iPhone 4S doesn’t come with a Micro SIM Card.

So hurry up and buy the Unlocked iPhone 4S! Seeing the huge demand it’s having, it’s only a matter of days before the shipping time increases from 2 weeks to about a month!

Hong Kong iPhone 4S Preorders Sold Out in 10 Minutes!

As we reported earlier the iPhone 4S would be rolling out in some more countries this month including Hong Kong and 14 other countries in a couple of days from now, so the roll out had already started for those launch countries.

Earlier we saw with the preorders in US when iPhone 4S first launched with record preorder sellout in less than a week and with more than 1 million sold in the first 2 weeks in the United States iPhone 4S launch.

Now we are getting reports about yet another sorts of a record for the iPhone 4S. iPhone 4S pre orders were sold out within 10 minutes in Hong Kong! The preorders began on Friday.

Apple Rumored to be testing Siri on older iPhones and other iDevices

While many of the Apple Enthusiasts are trying their best to port Siri on the older iPhones like the iPhone 4 and the iPod Touch, the news we’ve got for you today would definitely cheer all those users having the iPhone 4 and the other iDevices which are currently missing the Siri Fun on their existing devices.

According to Jailbreaknation one of their tipsters got some news from Siri front, if the tipster is to be believed Apple is now Testing the Siri Voice recognition feature on iDevices other than iPhone 4S, specifically the iPhone 4 and perhaps other devices like the iPad are also on the cards.

According to the tipster Apple has given their employees access to a special software version that incorporates Siri’s features on to older iDevices.

So there is definitely a ray of hope for the existing old iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users. Watch this space for more more news on the Siri Front.

[iOS Tips] View Pictures By Location On Your iPhone

Now you can view photos of your favorite places on your iPhone and 3G-equipped iPad with the use of a new feature named “Places”. This  new feature in the Photos app allows you to see pictures based on geographical location.

From the iOS homescreen:

  • Tap on “Photos”, then at the bottom of the Camera Roll tap onto “Places”
  • Scroll and zoom on the Google Map to show pins for specific regions tagged with photos
  • Tap a red pin to see a photo count exclusive to that place, then tap the blue > arrow to see camera roll only for that location

This feature is only accurate to use if you have Location Services and geographic tagging enabled for the photos app.] [via - OSXDaily]

iOS 5.0.1 Beta 2 Seeded to Developers

It was just a couple of days ago that Apple seeded the iOS 5.0.1 Beta 1 for the developers, the update saw some bug fixes in the Battery Life front as well as improvements in the Siri Voice Recognition with addition of support for Australian Accent.

Just hours after the release of the beta 1 there were some issues with the registration of the device for the developers. But Apple has just released the second beta for the iOS 5.0.1 with the build 9A404. This update is available for those who have updated their iDevices to the first iOS 5.0.1 beta 1 update as an over the air update.

So those of you who’ve already downloaded and installed iOS 5.0.1 Beta 1 from the links we posted before, you should simply perform a OTA update. OTA updates are much smaller in size.
