The previous version 10.7.2 update was released on October 12th, 2012 and was recommended to all OS X Lion users because of its support for the iCloud system which Apple rolled out earlier this year.
Downloading would allow you to sync photos, apps, documents and music between all your Apple devices powered by the iCloud storage platform.
The 10.7.3 build 11d16 update will continue to focus on iCloud compatibility once again. This time around the main focus will be centered on iCloud document storage, iCal, Address Book and Mail.OS X Lion which was released on July 20, available exclusively as a download from the Mac App Store. Within 24 hours, the new OS was sold and downloaded over 1 million times, largely due the low $29.99 upgrade cost. The server portion of the OS X Lion software is available online as well but as a separate download. The current version can be found in the Mac App Store as well for $49.99.
The 10.7.3 seed arrives with a release notes and the typical warning to developers:
“Please be aware that you will not be able to revert back to your previous system after updating. Please install this update on a system you are prepared to erase if necessary.”
To access iCloud make sure all your Apple devices are up to date. The service is free and comes along with 5GB of online storage.
OS X Lion 10.7.3 is available for download from Mac Dev Center.
