The AutoCorrect feature has been a long time time saver for messaging addicts on phones. iOS came with a slick and intelligent AutoCorrect feature. Apple decided to implement it in Lion, even to the point of keeping it enabled by default.
No doubt that AutoCorrect is a beneficial feature but for many users whose native language isn’t English this could pose a major problem.
There’s a way to disable autocorrect but its not straight forward and is hidden deep within System Preferences.
Here’s what you need to do to Disable Auto-Correct in Lion:
1. Open ‘System Preferences’
2. Click on ‘Language & Text’ as highlighted in the screenshot above.
3. Choose the ‘Text’ tab as shown above and Untick “Correct spelling automatically”.
