Jailbreak iPod Touch 3G 8Gb/32Gb/64Gb
iPod Touch 3G was launched a couple of months back with improved Processor and Graphics Capabilities (32Gb/64Gb). But along with that, they came with the 3.1 Firmware which prevented Jailbreaking.
A sort of temporary (tethered) Jailbreak is now available for iPod Touch 3G. Jailbreaking an iPod unlocks a lot of possibilities such as Custom Themes, some cool Apps and ahem *cracked games* too.
Blackra1n RC2 now supports Jailbreaking of the iPod Touch 3G 8Gb along with 32 and 64Gb variants.
Follow this guide to Jailbreak your iPod Touch 3G :

(PC Users)
1. Connect your iPod Touch to the PC and make sure its detected by iTunes.
2. Download Blackra1n from here and click on Windows Logo.
3. Make sure that iTunes is open and your iPod Touch is detected. Now run blackra1n.exe
4. It will say ‘Entering Recovery’ and the image from www.blackra1n.com will appear on your iDevice. Wait for it to reboot automatically.
5. Once the Device Reboots. Open blackra1n Application and Install Cydia.

(Mac Users)
1. Connect your iPod Touch to the PC and make sure its detected by iTunes.
2. Download Blackra1n from here and choose the Mac logo.
3. Make sure that iTunes is open and your iPod Touch is detected. Now run blackra1n.app
4. It will say ‘Entering Recovery’ and the image from www.blackra1n.com will appear on your iDevice. Wait for it to reboot automatically.
5. Once the Device Reboots. Open blackra1n Application and Install Cydia.

Note : Remember that this is a Tethered Jailbreak. This means that you will have to re-run Blackra1n.exe everytime your Reboot your iPod Touch. So do not reboot your iPod Touch when you don’t have any PC/Mac near you.
An untethered jailbreak will take time according to various sources, so don’t keep your hopes up that soon a permanent Jailbreak will come. For time being use this Tethered Jailbreak.

If a full jailbreak software comes out, will it still be possible to jailbreak an itouch 3rd generation 32gb after it has already been tethered jailbroken? X

i did all this nd it worked perfectly but blackra1n didnt show up on my ipod touch i have an ipod touch 3g 3.1.2 nd i kno my ipod is jailbroken cuz i rebooted it nd i had to plug it into the computer nd it worked fine but no blackra1n shows up on ipod

I HAVE A 3G 32GB IPOD TOUCH WITH THE 3.1.3 AND ITS NOT POSSIBLE TO DOWNGRADE IT, CAN I STILL DO A TETHERED JAILBREAK

Stupid review. Doesn’t state limitations of this method of jail breaking , like, for example, it doesn’t work with the 32 and 64 GB version of iPod touch with 3.1.3 firmware, which cannot be downgraded BTW.

iPod Touches 3rd Gen 32/64GB currently on 3.1.3 firmware cannot do the following:
1. Downgrade to 3.1.2, when you hit shift + restore (option + restore on mac) on itunes, it says “verifying restore with Apple”. You’re not going to be able to downgrade because Apple does NOT allow you to downgrade with 32/64 GB 3rd gen ipod touch modes, it’s their rules now.
2. Blackra1n will not work on a 3.1.3 3rd gen ipod touch, it was only made for 3.1.2
Sorry guys but Apple have done a good job on finally stopping jailbreaks and downgrading, BUT…Geohot (who did the blackra1n 3.1.2 jailbreak) is working on 3rg Gen 3.1.3 jailbreak. No one knows when it will come out, you will just have to wait.

So is t or isn’t it possible to jail break iPod touch 3G 3.1.3 32GB?!? Some sites say it is possible and others say it isn’t… I’ve tried down grading to 3.1.2, but it didn’t work. I also tried to use spirit jailbreak and I thought it worked until I couldn’t use any of the applications from cydia.. Now I’m stuck! Please help!!!

if you have a mac computer you dont click on windows if you have windows you click
then it will say jailbreak ipod top left corner you click and its finished
then you go on cydia on your ipod you go on manage, source ,modifie, add you enter in the bar that you write in and you write: cydia.hackulo.us
then you go on search bar in cydia you write installous you click on it on the top right corner you click install then confirm
