Create Free iTunes Account without Credit Card
Many people who have the iPhone/iPod Touch are still not able to install the FREE Applications because they don’t have an iTunes account as iTunes Compulsorily needs a Credit Card to create one !
I’ll explain in short how to get yourself a FREE iTunes Account without Credit Card !
Follow the Steps below :
1. Open iTunes
2. Click on iTunes Store from Left Side Pane.
3. At the very bottom of the page, select My Store as “United States”. (Other Countries are not tested)
Once you made sure that your iTunes Store Location is set to US, select AppStore from the Menu located at the very bottom of the iTunes Store as shown below:
4. Click on any FREE Application and Download it by Clicking on Free as Shown in the Pic above.
5. The Page related to that Application will open. Click on Get App and you’ll get a Box as shown below :
6. In the Dialog Box Click on Create New Account.
7. Click on Continue.
8. Accept the License Agreement by Ticking the Check Box and then Click on Continue.
9. Fill in your Email ID, Password, Secret Question and Birth Date and click Continue.
10. Now as you see in the Image Below. Now apart from VISA, MasterCard, American Express, you have another new Payment Option which says “None“. Check that !
11. Fill in your Details and click Continue. (if you’re wondering what to fill in for Address, you can fill up any valid PIN (ZIP) Code and Phone No. ex. City: New York, State: NY, Zip: 10012, Phone: 212 226-3127)
12. You’ll now be sent an Email. Check your EMail, Verify your Account.
13. Congratulations ! You’ve successfully created a new iTunes Account, totally free and without using or exposing any Credit Card Information !

@clyde : Put City : New York, State : NY, ZipCode :10027 Thats an example, you can also put any other US City you want and it works !

@Plumk : No bill is sent ! For all the applications that you download…you’ll be sent a receipt at your EMail Address detailing all the FREE apps that you’ve downloaded !

I created two accounts..one with US and the other with UK. I am in India & when I try to download free applications it says that my account is valid for purchases in US itunes store only. Anybody has any idea ?? Thanks for the help in advance

@Pankaj : Bro make sure you’re iTunes Store is set to US. Do that by selecting Country at the very bottom of the iTunes Store Page. Then Sync your iPhone. You should be able to download Free Applications then…..

whooOOOOhhh!! this actually works (still). here in the great white Kanada, it works flawlessly. I’ve been searching all over the ‘net for a way of doing this, and I’ve just downloaded my first app. and I +1 Tanmay’s comment above. I did all the stuff above, and then when I tried to download an app on my iphone it was like, “blah blah – only for the US store”. then I synced the iphone, and BOOM – works flawlessly.

alright – Tanmay here helped me get this to work.
for some reason, when I downloaded an app directly onto my iPhone, from the onboard app store on the iPhone, that app wouldn’t operate. I had previously synced the iPhone and Mac, so this program was also shown on my iTunes. I ended up authorizing my computer (Store>Authorize Computer…) which it said I had already done, synced my iPhone again, and then unplugged and rebooted the phone. while rebooting, I went into the applications folder in iTunes, and clicked and dragged the app I was having trouble with, onto my desktop. then I deleted it from iTunes. and then pulled it back in. when I synced my phone the second time, it re-installed the program (this time, via iTunes, NOT directly from the apps store on my phone), and now it works fine.
so watch out; programs you get directly off the apps store on your phone, may not operate correctly without some fidgeting.
