Create Free iTunes Account without Credit Card

Many people who have the iPhone/iPod Touch are still not able to install the FREE Applications because they don’t have an iTunes account as iTunes Compulsorily needs a Credit Card to create one !

I’ll explain in short how to get yourself a FREE iTunes Account without Credit Card !

Follow the Steps below :

1. Open iTunes

2. Click on iTunes Store from Left Side Pane.

3. At the very bottom of the page, select My Store as “United States”. (Other Countries are not tested)

4. Click on any FREE Application to Download as Shown in the Pic above :

5. The Page related to that Application will open. Click on Get App and you’ll get a Box as shown below :

6. In the Dialog Box Click on Create New Account.

7. Click on Continue.

8. Accept the License Agreement by Ticking the Check Box and then Click on Continue.

9. Fill in your Email ID, Password, Secret Question and Birth Date and click Continue.

10. Now as you see in the Image Below. You have another Payment Option which says “None“. Check that !

11. Fill in your Details and click Continue. (if you’re wondering what to fill in for Address, you can fill up any valid PIN Code and Fone No. ex. City: New York, State: NY, Zip: 10012, Phone: 212  226-3127)

12. You’ll now be sent an Email. Check your EMail, Verify your Account.

13. Congratulations ! You’ve successfully created a new iTunes Account, totally free and without using or exposing any Credit Card Information !

    @clyde : Put City : New York, State : NY, ZipCode :10027 Thats an example, you can also put any other US City you want and it works !

    @Pankaj : Bro make sure you’re iTunes Store is set to US. Do that by selecting Country at the very bottom of the iTunes Store Page. Then Sync your iPhone. You should be able to download Free Applications then…..

    whooOOOOhhh!! this actually works (still). here in the great white Kanada, it works flawlessly. I’ve been searching all over the ‘net for a way of doing this, and I’ve just downloaded my first app. and I +1 Tanmay’s comment above. I did all the stuff above, and then when I tried to download an app on my iphone it was like, “blah blah – only for the US store”. then I synced the iphone, and BOOM – works flawlessly.

    alright – Tanmay here helped me get this to work.

    for some reason, when I downloaded an app directly onto my iPhone, from the onboard app store on the iPhone, that app wouldn’t operate. I had previously synced the iPhone and Mac, so this program was also shown on my iTunes. I ended up authorizing my computer (Store>Authorize Computer…) which it said I had already done, synced my iPhone again, and then unplugged and rebooted the phone. while rebooting, I went into the applications folder in iTunes, and clicked and dragged the app I was having trouble with, onto my desktop. then I deleted it from iTunes. and then pulled it back in. when I synced my phone the second time, it re-installed the program (this time, via iTunes, NOT directly from the apps store on my phone), and now it works fine.

    so watch out; programs you get directly off the apps store on your phone, may not operate correctly without some fidgeting.

    @andreea : Hehe how can you purchase anything without Paying for it ?

    If you want to Buy Songs you’ll have to Add a Credit Card to your Account.

    With the current account you’ll only be able to Download all the FREE things such as Free Applications, Free Podcasts or Free Music if any.

    @yam : In your iTunes, set your Store to US. To do that go to the very bottom of the iTunes Store page and select US from there.

    After that just Sync your iPhone, and you’ll be fine !

    Well I have a very important comment about all this, if you still have iTunes 7 may it work, but with iTunes 8 is useless, the tunecore code generator don’t works anymore, and the applications says that the code has been used once, and if you start a new account process the no credit card will not appear, so if you need it, well in a PC maybe it’s easier to get the installer or a computer with this version of the app, than a Mac if you have your computer almost in everything automatic.
    If you had the account by this way before the update, it’ll work fine with iTunes 8, algo for generating Genius Playlists, getting some album arts, not all CD’s can be found, and well the main objective downloading the iTunes store free content, like apps, music and othe stuff. Good Luck!

    @ckrrje : You can only download Free Stuffs using this account. Free Stuffs Include Podcasts, Applications, and Free Music.

    To download Full Songs you need to pay for it.

    Yep ! Only Free Applications, Games, Music, TV Shows and Podcasts can be downloaded.

    For buying Paid Items you need to add a Credit Card !

    Make sure u get to the sign in screen by clicking on a free App not by
    clicking the sign in button.i thought i wasnt working at first but when u try to download a FREE APP it THEN gives you the “NONE” option in the billing screen…

    it won’t work for me!
    i followed all the steps and did exactly what it said, and it worked and let me make an account and everything but then when i went to purchase a game it came up with “This account has not yet been used for iTunes Store” so i clicked on “Review Account Details” or whatever it said, and checked the terms and conditions box, then it asked me for my billing information and credit card number again!     to everyone that the account is not working to, try sending it to another email address (like hotmail). It wasn’t working for me before when I had a different email but when I switched the email address it worked.

    Hope this helps.

    Works very well – just keep in mind that you HAVE(!) to select US since it looks like no other country works with the “None” option.

    For some reason Apple is such deuce bags you can’t get a non credit card account straight forward, you have to go through the apps store and create the account. That’s just another reason why, in my opinion, apple is out of “sync” with what people want and what is good public relations, how to keep customers. They seem to just keep pissing me off. They wouldn’t have customers at all if weren’t for their brilliant design engineers. But marketing sucks.

    Hmm. I have created an account doing this method in the past, but since I have a new computer and a newer version of iTunes, I can’t login to that account without it asking for me to provide billing information… ;/

    ok, so i think for the people that did it wrong, messed up when choosing the aps… to get this to work.. and it does work.. with any country for that fact, you have to select a FREE app, not one that costs money or else the “none” payment option doesnt appear, hope this helps :) and remember.. this can be done with ANY country, not just US
